Dramatic storytelling - part 2

This short story by Borges about a man confronted by his past, has an intimate and surreal atmosphere which I wanted to reflect in my reading.

I started by imagining I was speaking very close to the listener in a small space. My tone of voice is low and I decided not to edit out my breathing as I felt the occasional breath heightened the sense of claustrophobia and tension.

I felt that the character voicing should not be too pronounced, instead I have concentrated on my pacing to build drama and to keep the listener engaged.

The story suggested to me a kind of dreamy landscape which I have tried to create using very subtle sound effects
